How to import your work schedule from a photo

It's the end of a long shift. Someone hands you next month's roster on a sheet of paper. You could sit down and type every shift into your phone, one by one. Or you could take one photo and be done. That second way is what this guide is about.

Sisu Shift can read a photo of your schedule and turn it into your shifts. A paper roster on the break-room wall, a screenshot from your team lead, a PDF someone printed out. If you can photograph it, the app can read it.

How it works, step by step

  1. Open Scan. From your schedule, tap Scan.
  2. Add the photo. Take a new one, or pick a picture you already have.
  3. Say yes to the privacy note. The app sends your photo to be read, then throws it away. (More on that in a second.)
  4. Let it read. It picks out the dates, the start and end times, and the type of each shift.
  5. Check it. You see every shift it found before anything is saved. Fix any that look off.
  6. Tap import. They all drop into your calendar at once.

Start to finish, it takes about thirty seconds. Not thirty minutes.

Getting a clean read

The app is good at this, and you can make it even better:

  • Good light, and hold the phone straight over the page.
  • Get the month or the heading in the shot. That's how the app knows which days it's looking at.
  • If the sheet lists the whole team, frame your own row or column.

Is it private?

Yes, and you're in control. Scanning only happens when you choose it. Your photo is sent to be read, turned into shift data, and not kept afterwards. If you want the exact details, they're in our privacy policy.

What happens after

Once they're in, scanned shifts are just normal shifts. Your pay is worked out for you, and the app keeps an eye on rest periods and weekly hours under Finnish working-time rules. From there you can swap a shift, share your calendar, or get a nudge before work. You just didn't have to type any of it.
